Congratulations to Jeffrey R. Millman, PhD, on receiving a $375,000 Rosenau Family Research Foundation grant for his research project titled “Elucidating the Functional and Transcriptional Basis of Cystic Fibrosis using Human Stem Cell Models”!

This research aims to understand why people with cystic fibrosis (CF) often develop diabetes by using human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) to recreate the disease in the lab. Cystic fibrosis-related diabetes (CFRD) is a major cause of illness in people with CF, and this project aims to uncover how CF mutations directly damage pancreatic function using patient-derived stem cell models.
