Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, Sue Rosenau was the inspirational leader and driving force behind establishing The Legacy of Angels Foundation as a 501(c)(3) organization. Together with Paul, Sue spent nearly a year organizing a strategic plan to institute a mission for Krabbe disease and Cystic Fibrosis; two rare diseases that affect the Rosenau family genetics. In the HOPE of finding a cure for Krabbe disease and Cystic Fibrosis, they were passionate about research, newborn screening, and education that supports their mission.
In October of 2015, Sue received a devasting cancer diagnosis and the remarkably driven wife, nana, and philanthropic extraordinaire threw every ounce of energy and strength into beating the odds. Sue was poked, scanned, operated on, and hospitalized countless times, yet she remained engaged and focused on the organization’s goals.
Through it all, Sue remained closely engaged in the organization’s efforts in person or remotely from her home office. At the beginning of 2018, Sue worked daily with her daughters, Heather and Stacy to build out a succession plan to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization.
Our foundation remains focused and determined to march on, utilizing the blueprint created by our dear Co-Founder, Sue. The foundation so graciously inherited a great example and a name to forever remember. For these reasons, it only seemed fitting to announce the transition of our name to The Rosenau Family Research Foundation on the five-year anniversary of Sue’s passing.
